Goal: Players will learn how to PASS the ball using the inside of their feet. As they progress through the learning activities players will learn to pass into space and make a firm and weighted pass to connect with another player.
In a confined area players will spread out and partner up with a teammate. One ball will be shared amongst the two players. The player with the ball must stand still. The player without the ball must make a run (3-5 steps) then ask for the ball. When the pass is made and the ball is received, roles rotate.
Set two cones with two players. Players stand on each cone. Players pass back and forth. Create a pass goal of a given number. When number is set, both players must sit with ball above head or show off their favorite celebration. Continue to make pass goal number higher as the players succeed.
Set players in groups of five. With four cones create a square. One ball is needed per group. Player starting with the ball will have a second person behind. Player 1 will pass to Player 2. Player 2 controls the ball and passes to Player 3. Player 1 replaces Player 2 and so on.
Set teams using pinnies and two goals. Use players to rotate teams to ensure balanced play. Encourage players to Pass to their teammates.
Players should feel confident passing the ball using solely the inside of their feet. Players should understand that the inside of their feet is the most accurate place of their feet to make a pass.
